The Town of Barnstable consists of the villages of Barnstable, Hyannis, Hyannisport, Centerville, W. Barnstable, Osterville, Cotuit, and Marstons Mills. The largest Town on Cape Cod, Barnstable is also the county seat with the courthouse in the center of Barnstable Village. There are wonderful beaches in Barnstable, including Sandy Neck Beach on Cape Cod Bay, and Craigville, Dawes, and Kalmus Beaches on Nantucket Sound. The John F. Kennedy Museum can be found on Main Street in Hyannis, and the area's largest shopping malls can be found on Rtes. 132 and 28, also in Hyannis. You can catch the ferry to Nantucket (in Hyannis), or you can go whalewatching from scenic Barnstable Harbor. Miles of scenic beauty and many antique stores can be found along Rte. 6A.
