Why Shouldn't I Use This Information For Unsolicited Marketing?

Direct marketing has become very popular in recent years, and the temptation to use telemarketing techniques on the Internet is strong. However, the Internet IS different. If you recieve a direct marketing piece in the mail, it does not cost you any money and you may immediately throw it away before reading it, often before opening it. If someone calls you on the telephone, you may hang up, but you might be quite annoyed that your dinner, reading, whatever was interrupted. With EMail soliciting, the user has no choice but to receive the mail, and since they are usually paying for their connnection to the Internet, the mail has cost them money. From the start, you have created a negative impression of you and your business.

Remember, too, if we get complaints from people on this list that the list has been used for solicitation, we may have to discontinue the service.

AGAIN, DO NOT USE DATA FROM THIS SERVICE FOR UNSOLICITED MARKETING.
