The Town of Barnstable consists of Barnstable Village, Hyannis, Hyannis Port, Centerville, W. Barnstable, Osterville, Cotuit and Marstons Mills. Cape Cod's largest town, Barnstable is also the region's county seat with the courthouse in the center of Barnstable Village. Wonderful beaches abound in Barnstable including Sandy Neck Beach on Cape Cod Bay, Craigville, Dawes and Kalmus Beaches on Nantucket Sound. The John F. Kennedy Museum can be found on Main Street in Hyannis, and the area's largest shopping malls are found on Routes 132 and 28, also in Hyannis. You can catch the ferry to Nantucket (in Hyannis), or go whalewatching from scenic Barnstable Harbor. Miles of scenic beauty and many antique stores can be found on the northside along Rt. 6A. |
