Cape League Baseball from a Kid's Point of View

Written by Michael, Age 11 of Barnstable, Massachusetts

Attending Cape League Baseball is fun and exciting for boys and girls of all ages. The players are the best players from colleges all over the U.S.A.   Cape League has 10 different teams and each has their own park in towns that spread from Bourne to Orleans. There are two divisions, the east and the west. My favorite park is Eldredge Park which is home field to the Orleans Cardinals, but my favorite team is the Hyannis Mets. Some teams have mascots. Homer is the mascot for the Falmouth Commodores; Mr. Cardinal is the mascot for Orleans. The Hyannis Mets have the best hotdogs i have tried so far. It is fun to try to catch the balls that go into the bleachers, and at every park they give out rewards to whoever turns in a foul ball. The Cape League is non profit, so at every game there is a 50-50 raffle to raise money for the teams expenses. Admission is free, but please make a donation. Bring your family some time to a Cape League game. Also, bring a baseball to get signed because a lot of the players that were in Cape League have made it into the MLB, (Major League Baseball). For example, Kevin Millar, Todd Walker, Nomar, Jason Giambi, Doug Marabilli, Barry Zito, Mo Vaughn and tons more. For more information go to Cape Cod Baseball League. If you want to see some pictures from a Hyannis Mets game check out the allcapecod.com photo galleries.
